Juneteenth with Lowe Art Breakthroughs

Lowe Art Breakthroughs Corp hosts a two-part Juneteenth program at CityPlace combining hands-on art-making with live music. From 1:00 to 3:30 PM, a Family Art Creation Workshop invites participants of all ages to create personalized art journals that represent themselves, their heritage, and their hopes. The workshop is followed from 4:00 to 6:00 PM by a live music performance from dei 7 free range music, tracing the musical thread "From Africa to the Americas" with traditional African instruments, spirituals, jazz, blues, and contemporary forms. The free event celebrates the cultural lineage of Black art and music in observance of Juneteenth. Open to all; no experience required.
