Spokane's Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Program holds its annual pageant at the Spokane Community College Auditorium, celebrating young Black women in the Inland Northwest who demonstrate leadership, academic excellence, talent, and a commitment to community service. Candidates compete for scholarship awards through interviews, talent showcases, and community-service presentations. The pageant tradition, rooted in Juneteenth celebrations across the country, kicks off Spokane's Juneteenth season and crowns the reigning Miss Juneteenth, who serves as a youth ambassador throughout the year. Ticket revenue supports the scholarship fund. Open to the public.
