Central Park's Seneca Village site hosts a 1pm Juneteenth commemoration honoring the predominantly African American community that lived on the land between West 82nd and 89th streets from 1825 until residents were displaced by the construction of Central Park in 1857. The program features remarks, historical interpretation and a community ceremony at the village's archaeological footprint. Free, outdoors.
