Hampton University — the HBCU whose Emancipation Oak shaded the first Southern reading of the Emancipation Proclamation — opens its museum for a special Juneteenth viewing from 1–5 p.m. The program highlights the exhibit 'Picturing Freedom: Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad' alongside selections from Hampton's renowned African and African American art collections, one of the oldest in the country. Free admission; registration required by June 9 (call 757-727-5308).
